SKIN DISEASES

Diagnosis and treatment of common and rare skin diseases

ACNE

Acne, also known as acne vulgaris, is a long-term skin disease that occurs when dead skin cells and oil from the skin clog hair follicles. Typical features of the condition include blackheads or whiteheads, pimples, oily skin, and possible scarring.

Melasma and other pigmentary disorders

Melasma (also known as chloasma faciei, or the mask of pregnancy when present in pregnant women) is a tan or dark skin discoloration. Melasma is thought to be caused by sun exposure, genetic predisposition, hormone changes, and skin irritation.

Atopic Dermatitis

Also known as atopic eczema, is a long-term type of inflammation of the skin (dermatitis). It results in itchy, red, swollen, and cracked skin.

Hypersensitivity / allergic reactions

Allergies, also known as allergic diseases, are a number of conditions caused by hypersensitivity of the immune system to typically harmless substances in the environment. Symptoms may include red eyes, an itchy rash, sneezing, a runny nose, shortness of breath, or swelling.

Psoriasis

A long-lasting autoimmune disease characterized by raised areas of abnormal skin. These areas are typically red, or purple on some people with darker skin, dry, itchy, and scaly.

Rosacea

A long-term skin condition that typically affects the face. It results in redness, pimples, swelling, and small and superficial dilated blood vessels.

Skin Infections (bacterial, fungal, viral)

They are distinguished from dermatitis (inflammation of the skin).

Scabies, pediculosis, cutaneous larva migrans

The most common symptoms are severe itchiness and a pimple-like rash.[2] Occasionally, tiny burrows may be seen in the skin.
